Halloween Costume: Jellyfish

When we were growing up, you couldn't buy a costume in a store. I'd love to pass on the tradition of wearing a handmade costume. It just makes Halloween more special. Last year, they were two little snails. They even won a costume contest! This year, in keeping with our "eco-friendly" costumes, we went with a "Save the Ocean" theme....jellyfishes!

It's just a hat so it is easy to wear and easy to take off in case your family decides to bob for apples or ride on a hay ride. The Jellyfishes (a.k.a The Snails) will be wearing monochromatic clothes under their costume. I might also get some battery operated Christmas lights and fill the "body" up to give it some extra glow. What do you think? Wouldn't a handmade costume blog carnival be fun?

If you are a fan of SpongeBob, we think it would be really cute for mom and dad to be Patrick and SpongBob and the kids be jellyfish. So they would be jellyfishing....

That is super cute! I will have to show Hudson in the morning and see if he agrees. I am kind of hoping that he will want to be a sushi roll though :)

Love the costume- looks great! I've been so sick with my pregnancy, that I haven't been online much. After looking over your site, it makes me sad to have my kids back at school this year. I was concerned about teaching K and 2nd, working part-time, and having a new infant. Oh, how I miss having them home. I taught my 1st grader last year and had my preschooler home.

Focusing on getting our home organized for our new addition.

Take Care!

I remember this from Family Fun in 2000 and just saw the tutorial for this year! Yep. Pretty much the same. Thanks Anon, for the heads up!

Before you take my images, you'd better ask me first. I request that if, and when, you use my information and pictures, you provide proper credit and citation. A link back to my blog is nice, too. I love to give permission to really nice people. In fact, I have never said no. If you steal anything from my site, I get to be mean to you. Really mean. And I am smart enough to catch you being sneaky, too.
