Field Trip: Exotic Bird Sanctuary

This past weekend, we went on a field trip to a local exotic bird sanctuary. The place is awesome! It's free, they have over 1000 exotic birds, and the kids loved it. Almost all of the birds come from homes that no longer wanted them as pets.

It was a lot of fun to walk up to a Flight (that is what their enclosures are called) and say, "hello" and all of the birds say "hello" back to us. The owner said that they have to keep one bird put away because he lived in a couple's bedroom. They were an *ACTIVE* couple!

We will be making several trips during the year to the bird sanctuary and the kids might even help out a bit. It's a fun place!

How much fun! I would love to have a place like that near us. About as exotic as we get are my two-year-old's imaginary toucans and macaws that she sees everywhere.

I absolutely love your new header.

That is extremely unique - wish we had a place that neat to visit. Looking forward to seeing more pictures as you visit throughout the year!

I love field trips. That looks like a great place to visit. How did you find it? I wonder if we have any in our area?

Wow! Those birds are gorgeous! The part about the 'active couple' brought a smile to my lips. Have a fantastic weekend!

Before you take my images, you'd better ask me first. I request that if, and when, you use my information and pictures, you provide proper credit and citation. A link back to my blog is nice, too. I love to give permission to really nice people. In fact, I have never said no. If you steal anything from my site, I get to be mean to you. Really mean. And I am smart enough to catch you being sneaky, too.
