Writing Aid: Clear Dry Erase Board

When The Snails have difficulty writing a letter or numeral, I will usually make a dotted line copy or write it with a highlighter. They then trace over what I wrote. This wastes a lot of paper. A LOT. Today, I found my solution! A clear dry erase board! Here he is tracing my letter 'S':

I got this clear dry erase board at a store called Fred's. It is pure genius! For quiet time today, I put an animal coloring sheet under it and Big Snail traced it. This will really help his fine motor skills and help improve his handwriting.

Stop by tomorrow to read about our science experiments with lemons.

Neat-o

My problem would be that Gerrick would trace something really cool the first day I bought it and NEVER want it erased! lol :)

what a great idea, we are having some fine motor issues here and I wonder if that will work.

Oh, thay is a great idea! I love your idea of a clear one with a picture underneath- I will have to pick up a dry erase board next time I am out!

FYI, they even have dry erase boards with the handwriting lines on them! I just saw them, but don't remember where. Sorry.

This is a great idea, and I think sunnyboy would like one of these for his scribblings! Thanks for posting it :)

I've never seen a clear dry erase board--cool! I've been slipping paper/worksheets into top loading sheet protectors and using wipe-off markers on them--it works nicely!

I'm with Mom, M.Ed. We use sheet protectors, and also clear contact paper works well over things.

Sorry for offtopic

Before you take my images, you'd better ask me first. I request that if, and when, you use my information and pictures, you provide proper credit and citation. A link back to my blog is nice, too. I love to give permission to really nice people. In fact, I have never said no. If you steal anything from my site, I get to be mean to you. Really mean. And I am smart enough to catch you being sneaky, too.
