How do you say the blessing?

We sing our mealtime blessing. Here are the words:

CLICK HERE TO LISTEN TO THE SNAILS SING OUR BLESSING

God our Father, God our Father
Once again, Once again
We just want to thank you
We just want to thank you
Amen. Amen.

I'd love to know how you say the blessing!

Here's how it goes: Dear God, Thank you for Diego, Batman, Mommy, Daddy, Superman, Princess, Uncle Sam, any other person I can think of. At this point I start looking around the room to thank God for other stuff. It's really funny.
I like the new look by the way.

We decided to make MH stop singing a few months ago. Now she thanks God for whoever is around the table plus our dogs. She asks God to make our dogs heroes and to make her little sister be obedient :)

Those snail costumes are so cute! Believe it or not, I've always liked snails. For my 7th birthday I had seven cute frosting snails on my birthday cake!

How cute is this blog? LOVE it!

Usually my younger ones just give a simple, yet effective prayer of

"Thank you God for this food, In Jesus Name, Amen"

Straight to the point!

Awww, I started playing that and my lil girl (8months) started to look over at me, then smiled, and after it was over, clapped. You can tell your lil snails they got applause!

We always said:
God is Great, God is good,
Let us thank Him for this food,
By His hands we all are fed,
Thank you Lord for Daily Bread
Amen.

Very cute! Sadly we don't say anything. I know we really should. I think it's hard because we haven't done so and now 7 years in to having kids it seems hard to start.
I wanted to stop by and say thank you for following! You caught me on a bad (whiny) day so sending even more thanks!

That's cute...My youngest when he was 3 learned this and has been saying it since:
Thank you God for the world so sweet;
Thank you God for the food we eat;
Thank you God for the birds that sing;
Thank you God for everything.

Have a great weekend!

Your blog is darling! I found ya on SITS.

We say just a regular prayer on our meals, my husband and I take turns giving thanks for our many blessings, bless the food, and end with Amen. Pretty standard. Sometimes we like to spice things up and say it Spanish :)

I just found you!... what an ADORABLE blog and beautiful family!! I need to pick your mommy brain! :)

That is pretty cute, I've never heard it. I like it though, because as a song, it keeps the kids interested...cool.

Cara says it pretty much every night and it varies little. "Thank you for this food, please help it to make us strong and help it to be good." I think it might speak badly of my cooking, personally. LOL

What a great blog. Our dinner time prayers consist of the standard "Bless us, O Lord..." (which we learned in Latin and say it that way sometimes to spice things up a bit), the prayer for the unborn babies "Jesus, Mary and Joseph, I love you very much, I beg you to spare the life of the unborn baby that I have spiritually adopted who is in danger of abortion" (Every year on March 25th we "adopt" another unborn baby), then we say "Jesus increase our faith" and we end with either the Angelus or the Regina Coeli. Yes, it is sometimes too long, but for the most part it works!
God Bless.

4 yr old says:
I thank thee for my night of rest,
and for the morning light,
watch over me the whole long day,
and help me to do right.

7 yr old says:
Be present at our table Lord
be here and everywhere adored
these morsels bless and grant that we
may feast in paradise with thee.

10 yr old says:
Benedic Domini nos
at hec tua dona
que de tua largitate
sumus sumtere
per Cristem dominus nostrum
Amen.

13 yr old says the Lord's prayer in Latin and then in English (I don't know it in Latin by heart yet)

Before you take my images, you'd better ask me first. I request that if, and when, you use my information and pictures, you provide proper credit and citation. A link back to my blog is nice, too. I love to give permission to really nice people. In fact, I have never said no. If you steal anything from my site, I get to be mean to you. Really mean. And I am smart enough to catch you being sneaky, too.
