Copywork for Kindergarten/Preschool

Little Snail loves to read magazines and likes to name all of the pictures that she sees. The other day, Big Snail joined us and said, can we cut out the pictures? I thought this would be a great way to do copywork with text that was meaningful to him. He cut out pictures from the magazine and taped them to a piece of paper. I then wrote "I see the..." on each picture. He copied what I wrote. We are working on sight words now and he has enjoyed this little activity. As his development progresses, I will leave out the words that he can spell or sound out and eventually he will do this without the copywork.

Love it! Thanks again for sharing! I've just started my 5.5 y.o. with Hooked on Phonics and she's making surprisingly fast progress!!! However, she definitely needs more practice on her handwriting. This idea will help tremendously!

Cute dog picture!
I left you an award on my blog - no need to pass it on unless you want to but I wanted you to know how much I'm enjoying your lovely blog.

Before you take my images, you'd better ask me first. I request that if, and when, you use my information and pictures, you provide proper credit and citation. A link back to my blog is nice, too. I love to give permission to really nice people. In fact, I have never said no. If you steal anything from my site, I get to be mean to you. Really mean. And I am smart enough to catch you being sneaky, too.
