A New Milestone!

Moms never want to forget the first word, the first step, and other great milestones in their kids lives. I also don't want to forget some other milestones that might get over-looked. Like the first time Big Snail drew his first picture that wasn't a scribble. And now we have a new milestone that I want to cherish forever. Big Snail sounded out his first word!

Photobucket

He drew a picture of me and spend about 30 minutes sounding out the word "Queen." Can you see it? He wrote QEEN! Without help! This was his first attempt at sounding out a word. I am so excited that he is entering into the world of reading and writing. He is moving through the stages of reading development so quickly...all without the pressures of direct instruction from mom! I can't wait to see what he writes next!

I am saving all of his little drawings and writings and putting them in a published hard bound book for him. If you want to do something like this for your kids, visit my other site called Memories to Books.

Yeah for Big Snail. That's awesome. My son is reading now, and it is such a wonderful thing to hear them reading and see them writing. Aren't you glad that you get to experience all of it the "first" time as a homeschooling mommy? Life is good!

Before you take my images, you'd better ask me first. I request that if, and when, you use my information and pictures, you provide proper credit and citation. A link back to my blog is nice, too. I love to give permission to really nice people. In fact, I have never said no. If you steal anything from my site, I get to be mean to you. Really mean. And I am smart enough to catch you being sneaky, too.
