Making New Friends & Meeting a Blog Follower

Yesterday, I had the blessing of meeting one of my blog followers, The Dairy Queen from Life of a Dairy Queen! It was amazingly fun. It is so nice to meet someone who is a lot like myself. She homeschools, blogs, sews, and loves all things thrifty...like me! It is refreshing to find another family with our same Christian values. That can be hard to find sometimes. Our kids got along incredibly! It was if they have been friends their whole lives. Our day began with finding an Eastern Box Turtle on our back steps. Isn't this cool? He is the most beautiful Box Turtle I have ever found.

It worked! He came out and decided to play a bit.

Here is Big Snail trying to win a race with the turtle.

After our turtle fun (we let him keep on keepin' on), we headed 20 minutes away to the Dairy Queen's town. We stopped at Sonic and grabbed some food for our picnic. Nothing fancy for us! We're real people! We ate a bit and the kids played on the playground while me and The Dairy Queen chatted like old friends. She is a brilliant mother! I can't wait to try some of her ideas. I love how her girls have quiet bags for quiet time. I am going to have to do that, too!

The girls laughed. A LOT! They are a month apart.

So sweet! Can you believe that they are a month apart, too?

They had a lot of fun sliding down the slide together. Still laughing!

Isn't The Dairy Queen's daughter just precious? Her kids are so sweet.

I can't wait to meet up again! The Snail Family loves their new Friends, The Dairy Herd! One day, the Momma Snail, the Dairy Queen, and The Sweet Nester are going to get together for some momma fun!

Looks like they had a lot of fun. It's always such a joy to see the little ones enjoy themselves with new friends. :)

We had a great time too! I don't know why Mary Helen wouldn't smile...women! Poor Anna's face is really scratched up from her fall :(

I am so glad that we met, and you're right, it's great to have met someone with such similar interests and values!

May be I'll run into you Saturday!

My son, Rodney, shrieked with delight when he saw the tortoise. He's a big fan of tortoises and turtles!!!

That is sooooo cool! How great that you two can now be in real life friends! It sounds like you have a lot in common and it's nice that our kids are of similar ages too!

Before you take my images, you'd better ask me first. I request that if, and when, you use my information and pictures, you provide proper credit and citation. A link back to my blog is nice, too. I love to give permission to really nice people. In fact, I have never said no. If you steal anything from my site, I get to be mean to you. Really mean. And I am smart enough to catch you being sneaky, too.
