Caps for Sale!

I was folding laundry this morning and Big Snail walked by with a bunch of hand made hats in his hand and said, "Hats for Sale." He had not read the book, "Caps for Sale" so I thought this would be the perfect lead in to the book and a unit study on it.

I replied, "Hi. You have hats for sale? I'm busy right now but do you have a store that I can visit?"

him: "No."

me: "Well, hat sellers have stores. Make sure it has a sign so I can find you!"

About 30 minutes later, this is what I find:

Photobucket
(He copied this word from the grocery store insert)

The hat seller in his store with money jar and handmade hats.

One hat made from paper. The other is a sock around a clay pot.

I am super excited about our new unit study. I love "Caps for Sale" because there is so much you can learn from it!

It's funny, Caps For Sale is a book that sat around our house forever. My husband brought it along with his stuff. One day our fourth child asked me to read it--what a great book! Sad it took me so long to pick it up.
Also, as I was making the snail I thought of you.

I just stumbled upon your blog and I'm so glad I did! That is the most precious and sweet post I've ever read! What a budding little entrepreneur you have :)

I found your Blog yesterday & just got "Caps for sale" from our library to do a little project on it. Great idea i think we will run with!

Before you take my images, you'd better ask me first. I request that if, and when, you use my information and pictures, you provide proper credit and citation. A link back to my blog is nice, too. I love to give permission to really nice people. In fact, I have never said no. If you steal anything from my site, I get to be mean to you. Really mean. And I am smart enough to catch you being sneaky, too.
