Oral Presenation of Earth and Saturn
Big Snail has been learning about the Earth and a few planets. We are very blessed to have a dear friend who is an astronomy professor help out with Big Snail's tough questions about planets. And Aunt Snail is a geologist so we have the Earth covered, too! Whenever he asks why something is made a particular way, I always say, "Because God made it that way." Well, that doesn't work anymore...I actually have to have "real answers" (so he says). Anyway, today he drew the earth and then we made a little movie about what he has learned so far (it takes a second for him to talk):
After we made that movie, he came in with this little representation of Saturn and said, "Let's make one of Saturn, too."

I love his representation of Saturn --so creative! It's great when kids get interested enough in a topic that they "extend" and want to do more beyond the current activity. :)
How great...I love how little minds work and they are always, always thinking! LOTS of questions for us! :)
Fun!!
Trev is very fond of Saturn, too.
:)
Big Snail did such a great job with his oral reports on Earth and Saturn. So cute. You must enjoy listening to that sweet voice all of the time.

Creative and Curious Kids!
I just love your snails! Mine also requires "real" answers- She is constantly thrown off by people who litter and has a very hard time not confronting adults whom she witnesses litter. Do you think it's appropriate for a child to ask a stranger "Don't you want our world clean?"
Absolutely, CandiceR! I think it is fabulous that your daughter has the strength, courage, responsibility, maturity, and outgoingness to say that to a stranger!
"NObody lives on SATurn!"
That is too cute! I loved learning about the planets and their proximity to the sun and all that... can't remember any of it anymore, but I loved Jupiter for some reason. Didn't it have the most moons? And was entirely gas!
Thanks for your response Mama Snail I wasn't sure about the confrontation since adults are you know "above" children- but like she says "This is OUR world!"
oh how are you doing the watercolors like that? I would love to know more!
