Living and Learning: Making a Mummy

I stumbled upon this blog post , by Living and Learning, when I was visiting the UnPlugged Kids weekly challenge on wrinkle. This homeschooling family made a mummy using a Barbie doll. How genius! I can't wait to do this with the snails when they become interested in mummies. I am definitely going to get this book, as she has used, to spark some interest.

There is currently a King Tut exhibit in Atlanta. No mummies, just artifacts, though. And this great, great, great exhibit called, Mummies of the World, is coming 2010! There are 70 mummies in the exhibit. I think it is planned for 7 cities, but will be worth the trip.

The National Geographic
has a lot of teacher and family resources for the King Tut Exhibit. This website lets you write your name in hieroglyphics on a cartouche. This cartouche says "Big Snail":

I hope my kids get into mummies because I really want to make a Barbie Mummy!

Hi...
Glad you enjoyed my post. We're going to try to make it to Atlanta before the Tut exhibit is gone. I didn't know about the mummy tour of 2010! That should be fantastic! :)

Before you take my images, you'd better ask me first. I request that if, and when, you use my information and pictures, you provide proper credit and citation. A link back to my blog is nice, too. I love to give permission to really nice people. In fact, I have never said no. If you steal anything from my site, I get to be mean to you. Really mean. And I am smart enough to catch you being sneaky, too.
